- Memo pad
VUE is contained in a special package featuring color gradation on its cover to suggest the lapse of time. The package is in disguise of a memo pad. It serves as a cushion, but can be used as a real memo pad. On the first page, a message from the designer, Yves Behar, is written: “A new view of time!” You can also write your own gift message on the top page. For the watch to appear from a memo pad is certainly a novel approach. Whatever number of sheets desired may be left as a storage stand for the watch. The acrylic cover, memo paper, etc., are all made from recyclable materials.
- Glass top
A unique cylindrical glass top in which a round metal is embedded not only gives the watch space and transparency, but also expresses the mystery of time. Viewing valuable time ticking away in a glass showcase is as if we are looking at“ a new view of time.” Inorganic tempered glass is used.
Analogue Display
The hour is indicated by a number on the dial which appears and disappears through the slit circle on the rotating disc overlapping it. The center of the slit circle indicates the present time in the same manner as an analogue hour hand. The minutes are displayed by a conventional needle-shaped hand.
- A New View of Time
Unnecessary numbers are not displayed, and only the number of the present time is shown on the face. Figures appearing and disappearing tick away the time leisurely. Capturing this flow as“ a new view of time,” VUE lets you re-recognize the meaning and value of time. A special acrylic disc is used to display the hour. A needle hand is used to display minutes. “ Hour and minute” displays can be digital as well as analogue !
